Tuesday`s Most Active Stock Gainers (Macy’s, JCP, KSS, WMT, TGT)

Retail stocks declined with the broader markets Wednesday after companies in the U.S. private sector unexpectedly shed 23,000 jobs, signaling a still fragile job market that may continue to pressure consumer spending.

Macy's, Inc. (NYSE:M) slid 1% to $21.91 on high volume.

J.C. Penney Company, Inc. (NYSE:JCP) fell 0.67% to $32.46. So far this year, the stock has jumped over 20%.

Kohl's Corporation (NYSE:KSS) declined 0.72% to $54.85 on high volume. Over the past one year, the stock has jumped over 29%.

Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (NYSE:WMT) lost 0.45% to $55.67.

Target Corporation (NYSE:TGT) also fell 1.65% to $52.86.
