Don Imus Returns to Airwaves Monday

Don Imus will return to the airwaves Monday, nearly eight months after being run off for comments he made regarding the Rutgers University women’s basketball team.

It was back in April that Imus labeled the squad “nappy-headed hos” leading to civil rights activists and women’s organizations to protest the controversial voice and call for his ousting. Both MSNBC and CBS Radio dropped Imus from their line-up following threats by advertisers to pull their money from the stations.

On Monday, Imus will mark his return with a four-hour premiere, 6-10 a.m., that will be broadcast from Town Hall in Times Square in New York. Following his first show, Imus will fit in to the 6-9 a.m. time slot on WABC-AM.

Imus signed a five-year deal with RFD-TV which will simulcast the show on its cable network.
