Lakeview Health Systems “Recovery Warrior Thursdays” Series features Anthea R.

Earlier this year, Lakeview Health Systems, a Florida based drug and alcohol rehabilitation center, launched "Recovery Warrior Thursdays" with the tagline “Real Women Telling their Real Stories in 12…. Questions (not Steps)”, a weekly series that features women from all across the country that have overcome alcohol addiction, drug abuse, eating disorders, self-injury, and any other addiction that is affecting women in America.

The interview for the second week of February was with Anthea R. A fan of the Sobriety Diva fan book page, Anthea was very eager to share her recovery story as a reaffirmation of her own sobriety.

Highlights Include:

11. What words of empowerment would you give to women who have not made that first step yet?

I ask GOD to remove me from the bondage of self, to make me useful to HIM, I ask GOD to help me walk in Faith, not Fear…to be loving and tolerant of others as my GOD is to me. I talk to others in the program (AA…or NA) daily, and today I am able to take suggestions.

I stay really close to the women in recovery…I’ve learned that these are the sisters that will save my [expletive], not pat it.
