The Los Angeles County coroner's office has subpoenaed medical records from 20 doctors in its investigation into actor Corey Haim's death, CNN.com reported.
The news came from a coroner investigator looking into the death of the former child star, who died earlier this month. Following his death, it was disclosed that he obtained drugs – including the powerful painkillers Valium and Vicodin - using prescriptions written under the names of the doctors whose records are now being seized. The drugs were obtained during the past year, Los Angeles County Deputy Coroner Ed Winter told CNN.
Toxicology reports are not yet in, but they will be of interest in the case, showing if any of the illegally obtained drugs played a role in Haim’s death.
