Israel Carries Out Airstrikes in Gaza Strip, Injuries Reported

Palestinian media outlets have reported at least 13 air strikes carried out by Israeli warplanes in the Gaza Strip, attacks that have left some injured but no deaths have been attributed to the strikes.

The air strikes are believed to be in retaliation for the deaths of two Israeli soldiers last week as four of the strikes were near Khan Younis, the town where the soldiers were killed.

According to Hamas the attacks targeted metal workshops, farms and other sites belonging to the military wing of Hamas, the same group that claimed responsibility for the Israeli killings last Friday.

News agencies also reported that Israeli aircrafts dropped leaflets over part of Gaza warning residents that an airstrike would occur as retaliation for the soldiers’ deaths.
