Tips for Affording Summer Camp

As students around the country wait patiently through the rainy spring months for the weather to get warmer, parents begin to think about two questions: “What am I going to do with the kids this summer?” and “Will I be able to afford anything?”

For children of two-income households, summer camp isn’t merely a luxury, but an essential part of their summer. Fortunately, even with today’s economy, there is a way to make summer camp affordable for every student that will help them learn important learning and
life skills.

SuperCamp, a
summer enrichment program for kids and teens ages 14 – 19, is aware of the damaging effects that the economy is having on families these days, so they have compiled a list of ways to save precious dollars on summer camp in these tough financial times.

First, be aware of early enrollment discounts, and always plan ahead. SuperCamp offers an early enrollment savings of $100 off the full price if enrolled in April.

Second, ask the camp about a discount for multiple children from one family. If parents enroll more than one of their children in SuperCamp at the same time they receive a Super Siblings discount of $100.

Third, inquire about discounts for returning campers. All kids and teens who go to SuperCamp receive $100 off the price of enrollment for each subsequent year they attend.

Fourth, ask if there are any special promotions happening at the time you want to enroll. For example, from March 1 until April 30, SuperCamp is offering a special “Extra Credit Savings” for people enrolling their kids for the first time.

Finally, make summer a part of the family’s educational plan. Choose a specialty program that will enhance the student’s profile for college or help develop a new interest or skill. SuperCamp offers an 8-day
college success program for high school graduates and college students called Quantum U.

Countless students spend the entire school year looking forward to the opportunity for fun in the sun, making new friends, and learning at SuperCamp. It is one of the best opportunities a parent can give to their child during the summer months when they are out of school. No matter what a family’s budget, there is a payment plan to meet their financial needs to ensure their son or daughter’s success in school and life.
