Dwyane Wade Divorce Battle Heats Up

Things are not looking good in the continuing legal battle between Dwyane Wade and his estranged wife Siohvaughn. Recently it was reported that Wade had filed for sole custody of the couple's two children. Siohvaughn has been called unfit for parenting the couple's children because, according to legal documents, she engages in unusual religious practices, uses abusive parenting methods, and has even prevented Wade from seeing his children. Not too long ago, she blocked an order for their children to see Wade at the All-Star Game, during which he won the MVP award. Wade filed for divorce from his former high school sweetheart in 2007, and things have not been great between the two ever since . In February of 2009, Wade sued his wife for allegations she made that he had given her a sexually transmitted disease. After he filed the lawsuit, Wade explained that "I had no other choice but to file this action in order to clear my name." According to a recent TMZ.com report, a close friend of the family has sworn in a deposition that Siohvaughn had previously confided to her that, in fact, Siovaughn had contracted an STD from an extra-marital affair. In 2009, Siovaughn's also alleged that Wade abandoned their children and would go weeks at a time without seeing them. These back-and-forth allegations have continued since 2007, and there doesn't seem to be a clear end in sight, but hopefully this legal battle will soon be resolved, if only for the sake of the children involved.
