Pennsylvania Society for Biomedical Research (PSBR) has announced that 390 students are participating in its 29th annual contest for high school students. 116 students are participating in the 15th annual contest for 7th and 8th graders. 40 PSBR members and friends of the Society are now judging the essays. Winners will be selected based on their understanding of the topic of why animals are used in biomedical research, and what is the point of bioscience research. Winners of the contest will be awarded with prize money ranging from $100 to $500. They will be honored during a PSBR dinner, in addition to their families and teachers, on May 25.
