Ferro Corporation (NYSE:FOE) has announced that it has won the 2010 Responsible Care Performance Award. The award was presented to the company by the American Chemistry Council (ACC). Ferro was one of 10 companies that has received the award out of 138 members of the ACC’s Responsible Care Program. Members of the program qualify for the award by progressing towards the ACC’s Board approved set of goals and targets. Goals and targets include 5% reduction in OSHA incident rates, 20% reduction in the average lost work day rate throughout five years, no fatalities, 18% reduction in greenhouse gas intensity over 1990 levels by 2010, and Product Stewardship summaries are available for 100% of high priority chemicals.
