DestinationVillas.com Reports Airlines Plan to Cut Service this Winter

Routes to be cut by as much s 4.4%

DestinationVillas.com reports six major airlines plan to cut flights during the upcoming winter 2008 season.

American, United, Delta, Continental, Northhwest and US Airways. The airlines predict that schedules will return to normal during the summer months. One major reason for the cut is the raising cost of fuel. A second reason is that airplanes typically are not filled to capacity during the winter months. The temporary cutback will bring budgets back in check.

In the meantime, a missed flight or missed connection could cost you to lose days of your trip rather than hours. DestinationVillas.com urges travelers to select direct routes when possible and allow a minimum of a two-hour window between connecting between flights.
