Notre Dame Football Recruit Matt James Dies in Fall from Hotel Balcony

Notre Dame football recruit Matt James, a 17-year-old offensive tackle from Cincinnati, Ohio, died on Friday after falling from a hotel balcony in Panama City, Florida.

James, at 6-foot-6, 291-pounds, had been named to USA Today’s first-team All-American squad after leading his St. Xavier High School to a number four ranking in Ohio’s final poll.

According to reports James had been in Panama City for spring break and fell from a third-story balcony.
