Nine Dead in Westroads Mall Shooting in Omaha, Nebraska

At least nine people have been reported dead and an undisclosed number have been injured after a gunman opened fire at the Westroads Mall in Omaha, Nebraska on Wednesday afternoon.

It is believed that the gunman is one of those killed, apparently by a self-inflicted gunshot.

The shooting at the Westroads Mall took place in the Von Maur store as scores of shoppers ran out the exits while others looked for cover inside the building. Several shoppers reported 35-40 shots being fired.

According to a report from NBC affiliate WOWT-TV, the gunman was shooting from a third-floor railing and fired indiscriminately at shoppers below before turning the gun on himself.
