The names of the victims killed in the Omaha mall shooting Wednesday have been released. Police identified the victims as six employees and two customers.
Robert A. Hawkins, 19, smuggled an SKS rifle into Nebraska's largest mall, Westroads Mall in Omaha, and sprayed the third floor of Von Maur with gunfire.
The customers killed included Gary Scharf of Lincoln and John McDonald of Council Bluffs, Iowa, police said. The employees killed included Angie Schuster of Omaha, Maggie Webb of Omaha, Janet Jorgensen of Omaha, Diane Trent of Omaha, Gary Joy of Omaha and Beverly Flynn of Omaha.
The shooting spree was Nebraska's deadliest since January 1958, when Charles Starkweather killed 10 people in Nebraska and another in Wyoming.
