Militants Kill Two UN Workers in Raid in DR Congo

Armed militants raided a town in the northwest region of Democratic Republic of Congo, killing at least two UN workers and several civilians.

According to reports the militants overran the airport in Mbandaka and killed a Ghanaian peacekeeper and another UN employee. Security forces from the UN and Congolese troops were still trying to gain control of the airport.

While it is not yet known who launched the attack it is believed to be the work of rebels from the Enyele tribe - a Lobola sub-tribe.
