NBA News: Denver Nuggets Coach George Karl Likely to Miss Opening Round of Playoffs

Denver Nuggets head coach George Karl will likely miss the team’s remaining regular season games as well as their opening round playoff series according to a report in The Denver Post.

Karl’s life partner Kim Van Deraa told the newspaper “To count out all the playoffs, that's up to his body. Who knows when his return will be? No one knows. He doesn't even know. I'm sure he's hoping that if we go on a playoff run, that he can [coach] this season.”

Karl has completed 36 radiation treatments and is scheduled to have his final chemotherapy session on Wednesday. The long-time NBA coach hasn’t attended a game since March 16.
