Citigroup (NYSE:C) has hired a longtime Technology Banker, Paul Phillips, from Bank of America Merrill Lynch. A Citigroup spokesman confirmed the appointment. Mr. Phillips has strong relationships with the venture capitalist and the sponsor communities in Silicon Valley, according to a memo. He will be based in Palo Alto, Calif., and report to Ben Druskin and Mark Simonian, who are the co-heads of Citigroup’s Global Technology, Media and Telecommunications Investment Banking Division.
Mr. Phillips was previously a managing director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He served as Bank of America’s global head of technology investment banking from 2003 until the merger with Merrill Lynch at the end of 2008.
