AutoNation, Inc. (NYSE:AN) is the biggest gainer and jumped 2.77% to $18.54 after increasing its forecast for profitability in the first quarter, saying it now expects to earn 32 cents to 35 cents a share for the quarter ended March 31, up from the forecast of 29 cents to 32 cents it gave last month.

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) surged 2.74% to $135.09 . Piper Jaffray maintains an 'Overweight' rating on Amazon.com with a price target $172.

 

American International Group, Inc. (NYSE:AIG) jumped 3.50% to $36.28. So far this year, the stock has jumped over 18%.

 

El Paso Corporation (NYSE:EP) rose 2.80% to $11.80 after it has received Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) approval for its Ruby Pipeline project.

 

United States Steel Corporation (NYSE:X) surged 1.75% to $70.17 after hitting a new 52-week high of $70.17.

 

M&T Bank Corporation (NYSE:MTB) gained 3.61% to $84.56, just 44 cents away from its 52-week high of $85.Yesterday, the stock was upgraded by Collins Stewart to hold from sell.
