Banco Santander, S.A. (ADR) (NYSE:STD) slid 3.10% to $13.49 on high volume.
Vodafone Group Plc (ADR) (NASDAQ:VOD) lost 2.73% to $22.84. The head of Verizon Communications (VZ.N) does not see a case to pursue a merger with Vodafone Group Plc (VOD.L), its wireless joint venture partner.
Lloyds Banking Group PLC (ADR) (NYSE:LYG) declined 2.50% to $3.94 on high volume.
