Google co-founder Larry Page got married Sunday on Sir Richard Branson's Caribbean island. 600 people were in attendance.
Page, one of the world's richest bachelors with a net worth of $18.5 billion, ended his courtship with doctoral student Lucy Southworth with a beautiful wedding on Necker Island, Branson's 74-acre Virgin Islands resort. Branson performed the best man's duties for the wedding.
Necker Island costs upwards of $46,000 a night to rent. The guests were booked into the nearby island of Virgin Gorda, with wedding planners reportedly booking every available hotel room six months ago.
The wedding was scheduled for Saturday, but was postponed a day after a tropical storm shook up the carefully laid plans.
Page and Southworth's relationship first became public in early 2006. Southworth is studying for a doctorate in biomedical informatics at Stanford University and holds an MSc from Oxford. Page stopped working on his own Stanford Ph.D. in computer science in 1998 to develop Google instead.
Fellow Google co-founder Sergey Brin was recently married as well. Brin married Anne Wojcicki in May this year, in a low-profile ceremony in the Bahamas.
