NBA Schedule Wednesday April 7: Dwyane Wade Has Miami Heat Gunning for Ninth Straight, Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony Meet in Western Battle
With several teams still jockeying for playoff position the NBA schedule for Wednesday night could determine how those playoff standings play out. While Cleveland and Orlando have locked up the one and two spot in the Eastern Conference the Atlanta Hawks and Boston Celtics are still fighting for the number three seed and with the Hawks holding a game advantage and the tie-breaker the Celtics can’t afford another loss.
While the Celtics can’t afford another loss their opponent on Wednesday, the Toronto Raptors, really can’t afford another loss as they currently sit in the eighth spot in the playoff race, just one game ahead of the Chicago Bulls. Toronto lost All-Star Chris Bosh on Tuesday night after he suffered a facial fracture in their game against the Cleveland Cavaliers and the rest of the season will be a battle.
Still trying to improve their playoff position is the Miami Heat and Dwyane Wade has his team playing as well as any team in the NBA. Winners of eight straight, the Heat will look to extend that streak on Wednesday when they host the Philadelphia 76ers.
In one of the most intriguing showdowns of the night Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets will travel to Oklahoma City to face off against Kevin Durant and the Thunder. The Nuggets are in a four way battle for the number two seed in the Western Conference but the Thunder aren’t far behind, sitting just two games behind Denver entering tonight’s game.
