NBA Schedule Thursday April 8: Kobe Bryant and Carmelo Anthony Meet as Denver Nuggets Host Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers need just one more win or a Denver Nuggets loss to clinch the best record in the Western Conference and on Thursday night the matter could be settled as the two teams meet in the mile-high city with Kobe Bryant staring down Carmelo Anthony.

While the Nuggets might not have their eye on the number one seed they certainly have their focus on the number two seed and there remains a serious fight for that position. The Nuggets are currently even with the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns and just ½ game ahead of the Utah Jazz. Denver knows a loss could drop them into the fifth spot and cost them a home playoff advantage so Thursday night is big.

The Chicago Bulls are also fighting for a playoff spot but right now they just want to get in as they sit ½ game behind the Toronto Raptors for the final spot in the Eastern Conference. Pulling even with the Raptors could be a difficult task on Thursday as they host LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, a team that has already wrapped up the top seed throughout the playoffs.
