Earlier this year, Lakeview Health Systems, a Florida based drug and alcohol rehabilitation center, launched "Recovery Warrior Thursdays" with the tagline “Real Women Telling their Real Stories in 12…. Questions (not Steps)”, a weekly series that features women from all across the country that have overcome alcohol addiction, drug abuse, eating disorders, self-injury, and any other addiction that affects women in America.
The interview for the first week of March was with Tracy [last name omitted]. She is another member of the Sobriety Diva fan page who wanted to help other women battling addiction. by sharing her testimonial.

11. What words of empowerment would you give to women who have not made that first step yet?
I maintain my sobriety today by knowing that I don’t ever want to experience what I had in my past. I have two children still at home who do to my alcoholism need me to be present in their lives so that they may function and live their lives to the best of their abilities and I often recite my Serenity Prayer to myself when I find I am getting overwhelmed. I also take the opportunity to use this very effective tool and have signed up on different pages and sites to help maintain an open dialogue with others who share the same struggles as I.
