Malcolm McLaren, Former Manager of Sex Pistols, Dies at Age 64

Malcolm McLaren, the former manager of the punk band the Sex Pistols, has died at the age of 64 from cancer.

McLaren reportedly passed away in his New York home on Thursday morning and his body is now expected to be flown back to the UK for burial. His death was a surprise to many as he was thought to be doing well.

McLaren helped define punk fashion having opened a store along with designer Vivienne Westwood. Their store, Let It Rock, was later renamed Sex. He became manager of the Sex Pistols shortly thereafter and helped the band become universally recognized.

In addition to managing the Sex Pistols he managed the New York Dolls and started producing his own records.
