The pressures of keeping a budget together have never been greater. Last week CNN announced that 220,000 people are going to lose their unemployment benefits across the country. Michigan has faced a lot of financial pressure as jobs become harder to find. In the midst of a rough housing market families are looking for great deals.
Even though Michigan has faced some tough economic challenges residents remain hopeful. There are plenty of problems however for retail stores and restaurants as newspapers continue to close. This leaves Metro Detroit in a peculiar spot because they still need to get the word out about their stores, restaurants and service industries. This is where the Internet comes in.
“There are coupon sites out there right now that try to service this need. However, many of these sites have coupons on them that nobody can find. If you are not popping up on page 1 on the search engines you can pretty much bet that you will never be found. We created an Interactive format that allows searchers to find your offers in under 15 minutes!” explains an eager Ted Cantu.
The idea to create a high profile coupon section would be an addition to Hot Metro Finds, a popular video web directory. This online site would accomplish a few things namely it will connect the retailers to the consumers. This would place retailers coupons right on page 1 of Google, Bing and Yahoo as well as other search engines. The developers for this new platform confirmed that the retailers can plug in their PLU codes into their coupons so they can track their sales. From there the coupons get linked up to high profile pages on the web.
“We want to see more families go out to dinner more than once every other week. I know the restaurants and retail stores will appreciate it. And with the high cost of printed advertising our retailers are pretty excited about it. This gives them more leverage as papers like The Ann Arbor News and the Eccentric continue to fold and close” says Ted Cantu.
Cantu and Co. are creating a web site that caters to the Chicago market. That site is going to also feature online real estate properties in addition to retail and restaurants.
