2010 Masters Leaderboard Day 1: Fred Couples Atop List, Tiger Woods Sitting Two Back

It’s been 18 years since Fred Couples earned the Green Jacket after winning the Masters and on Thursday he managed to turn back the clock, firing a 6-under 66 to sit atop the Leaderboard at Augusta National.

 

Couples actually collected seven birdies on the day, his only mistake coming on the fifth hole where he settled for bogey.

 

Couples wasn’t the only legend to impress as 60-year-old Tom Watson showed he still had plenty left as he finished at 5-under and didn’t have a single bogey. Watson actually finished his day atop the Leaderboard before Couples charged late.

 

Watson is joined with K.J. Choi, Lee Westwood, Y.E. Yang and Phil Mickelson at 5-under while Tiger Woods had an impressive day at 4-under, just two strokes back. Tiger had complete mix through his 18 holes, collecting three birdies, three bogies and a pair of eagles.
