Infamous child killer Curtis Dean Anderson dies

Infamous child killer Curtis Dean Anderson has died while serving his 300 year prison sentence in a California jail. The former cab driver was found guilty of the murder of 7-year-old Xiana Fairchild and of the kidnapping and sexual assault of two young girls.

The 46-year-old was convicted of kidnapping and sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl in 2000. She was trapped in Anderson’s car for two days before managing to escape. Anderson was sentenced to 251 years for the incident.

In 2005 Anderson pleaded guilty to the murder and molestation of Xiana. He was sentenced to another 50 years. The girl went missing on her way to school and her skull was found a year later. Anderson was believed to have bragged about video taping strangling and molesting Xiana. According to a testimony during his hearing, Anderson decapitated the girl after he murdered her.

Police say Anderson died in a Bakersfield hospital. He had been ill for some time, which is one of the reasons why the Santa Clara County district attorney’s office did not seek the death penalty.
