NBA Schedule Friday April 9: Kevin Durant and Oklahoma City Host Steve Nash and the Suns with Playoff Spots Still at Stake

With just a handful of games left in the NBA regular season the playoff picture in both the Eastern Conference and Western Conference remains as muddled as ever. With 13 games on the schedule for Friday night that picture could get a lot clearer or remain just as hazy.

One key battle will feature superstar Kevin Durant and the surprising Oklahoma City Thunder hosting Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns. The Thunder currently hold the eighth spot in the West but with a win and losses by Portland and San Antonio they could jump to the sixth spot and avoid a potential first-round series with Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers. Phoenix has plenty to play for as well as they are fighting for home-court in the first round. A loss could drop them down to the fifth seed while a win could pull them even with the Denver Nuggets for the number two seed.

The Portland Trail Blazers can also help their cause and solidify their current sixth seed with a win over Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks. A loss could drop them down to the eight spot though and the Mavs still have plenty to play for as they battle with the Suns, Nuggets and Utah Jazz for the number two seed.

In the Eastern Conference the fight for the number eight seed continues with the Toronto Raptors and Chicago Bulls even heading into Friday. The Raptors have to hit the road and take on the Atlanta Hawks while the Bulls travel to face the New Jersey Nets. Toronto currently holds the tie-breaker but Friday won’t be easy as the Hawks continue to fight with the Boston Celtics for the number three seed in the Eastern Conference.
