Mitchell Reports Leaks to Media, Names 80 Players

Former Senator George Mitchell's report after his 20-month investigation probing the Steroids Era in baseball has been leaked. It will be released in its entirety Thursday at 2pm.

Mitchell was brought in by Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig from his law firm DLA Piper to probe steroids use in baseball.

There are rumors that the Mitchell Report names as many as 80 former and current players, linking them to performance-enhancing drugs, human growth hormone (HGH) and other banned substances.

A large portion of the report was based on information given by Kirk Radomski, a former New York Mets batboy and clubhouse attendant who for years dealt performance-enhancing drugs to baseball players. Radomski became a major source of steroids after BALCO was taken down.

Facing a possible 25-year prison sentence, Radomski pleaded guilty to steroid dealing in U.S. District Court in San Francisco in April. He is still awaiting sentencing.
