Pervez Musharraf to Lift State of Emergency in Pakistan

Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has made plans to lift the country’s state of emergency and restore the constitution but before he does he is making safeguards to ensure he won’t be charged with any crimes related to the Nov. 3 enforcements.

Musharraf said he would restore order on Saturday but would make a change to the country’s constitution in order to prevent being brought into court to face charges stemming from his decision to remove judges from the judiciary, jail lawyers and opposition leaders and shut down freedoms inside media outlets.
