Tiger Woods Looks to Reign in Profanity after On-Air Expletives Fly at Masters

Tiger Woods had pledged to control his outbursts on the golf course but on day three at Augusta National the world’s number one golfer fell short of keeping his composure as the television audience heard a series of expletives that may make CBS consider a time-delay on Tiger shots.

Tiger fought hard at Saturday’s Masters and was battling to stay in contention for the Green Jacket. That battle overtook his commitment to controlling his temper and following a poor strike on the sixth hole Tiger screamed “Tiger Woods, you suck” and followed that with one of the few expressions network television doesn’t allow on the air.

While CBS announcer Vern Lundquist tried to play the outburst off with somewhat of a comedic quip. “I don’t think he’s pleased” the evidence that Woods still hasn’t quit tamed the tiger within was obvious.

Coming into Sundays final round at the Masters Tiger was four strokes back and in third place and if he remains in contention a bad shot will almost certainly elicit a few words that may have made George Carlin’s list, it will be interesting to see if CBS has learned their lesson and turned the Tiger microphone off.
