Paco Torres qualified on Poker770 for the third time in a row

April 7th, 2010Poker770 is happy to congratulate Paco Torres who qualified for the third time for a live poker event, and cashed for the second time in a row.

He first cashed during the Euro City Poker Tour in Barcelona (19th-21th march, 2010), earning 12,300 € after being busted out in the 12th place. Paco Torres has a history with Ireland: last winter during the Irish Winter Festival, he busted out on the bubble, ten places away from money, after two days of amazing poker. His comeback here in Dublin was a good occasion to take his revenge, and actually, he did.

There were 708 players at the beginning of this 3,300 € buy-in Irish Open of Poker, and it was clear that the first day was going to be difficult. With a starting stack of 10,000 chips and a one-hour blinds structure, there's no place for mistakes. At the end of the first day, only 264 players had survived. Paco Torres had 18,000 chips at this moment, when the average was 26,800 chips.

At the beginning of day 2, the objective of each player was to enter the money, what meant being in the last 72 survivors. After 10 hours of play, the bubble exploded and Paco Torres ended the day with a short-stack of 57,000 chips. Day 3 was the day where each player had to play down to the final table, the nine finalists. As soon as the play resumed Paco doubled up twice, going from 57,000 chips to 280,000. This seemed promising, and he had his moment of glory when he was placed at the feature table, with Ross Boatman. Unfortunately, at the end of the day 3 Paco lost a huge pot at the TV Table: he called an all-in with a pair of Queens, but his opponent had a pair of Kings. Paco was short-stacked at this time, and he pushed all-in with A5. His opponent made the call with AQ, and Paco needed a five to stay in the tournament: no five on the board.

Anyway, one more time Paco "ELTREN770" made his fans dream during this Irish Open of Poker. He finally finished in 24th position, earning 13,700€ for his performance."
