Phil Mickelson Wins Masters; Beats Tiger
Golf Champ Wins Third Masters Title
On Sunday, golf great Phil Mickelson won his third Masters title, beating a returning Tiger Woods by 5 strokes and every other player by at least 3 strokes. Lee Westwood of England and Anthony Kim finished second and third, respectively. After his 16-under-par victory, Mickelson embraced his wife in a very touching and personal moment. Mickelson had tears in his eyes as he hugged his wife, who was diagnosed with breast cancer 11 months ago. She hadn't been to see her husband on a golf course since she was diagnosed, so Mickelson said, "I wasn't sure if she was going to be there." He also expressed his joy, saying, "In the last year, we've been through a lot and it's been tough. And to be on the other end and feel this kind of jubilation is incredible" It was truly incredible to watch Mickelson make shot after amazing shot, including an outstanding shot from the trees right near the flag. Sunday's victory marked Mickelson's 3rd victory at the Masters and this 4th major championship title.
