MLB Schedule Monday April 12: Boston Red Sox Open Series Against Minnesota Twins, Philadelphia Phillies Host Nationals in Home Opener
The MLB season is now underway and while there have been just a handful of games played there have already been some surprises as the Toronto Blue Jays sit atop the AL East with a 5-1 record while the LA Angels are sitting at the bottom of the AL West at 2-5. In the National League the San Francisco Giants are an impressive 5-1 in the West while the Houston Astros are 0-6 with all six losses coming at home.
There are 12 games on the schedule for Monday, all being the start of a new series. The Detroit Tigers are 5-1 and hold a ½ game lead over the Twins as they welcome the Kansas City Royals to town. Detroit has won four straight and are welcoming a struggling Royals team.
Minnesota will open their new park on Monday and it should be a good one as the Boston Red Sox pull into town. After a rough opening series against the New York Yankees the Red Sox put some things together against the Royals and have won two straight to pull even at 3-3 on the year.
