Chris Cagle, whose single “I Breathe In, I Breathe Out” hit number one on the Billboard country music charts in 2002, was cited for misdemeanor assault after punching a man in the face at a charity event.
After wrapping up a performance at the event Cagle was coming off stage when a woman asked for his autograph. Cagle declined the request which sent the woman into an uproar at which time she began berating the singer.
The woman was being escorted out of the event when her boyfriend said something to Cagle which resulted in the punching incident.
