The Dow Jones Industrial Average boosted 20 points on Monday to shoot past its11,000 mark, while the S&P 500 index inches towards 1,200

In Mid-Afternoon Trading, the Dow rose 19.35, or 0.2 percent, to 11,016.70. The S&P 500 index rose 2.94, or 0.3 percent, to 1,197.31. It traded has high as 1,199.20. Last but not least, the Nasdaq composite index rose 5.59, or 0.2 percent, to 2,459.64.

 

The Dow is coming off its sixth consecutive weekly gain. The index peaked over 11,000 for the very first time since September 2008 in the moments prior to the close on Friday before settling just under its mark.
