MLB Schedule Tuesday April 13: New York Yankees Host LA Angels in Home Opener, Los Angeles Dodgers Face Arizona Diamondbacks
The last two teams to play at home will take the field on Tuesday as the New York Yankees host the LA Angels while the Los Angeles Dodgers welcome the Arizona Diamondbacks in an early NL West showdown.
New York will be sending Andy Pettitte to the hill, his first appearance since an impressive outing against eh Boston Red Sox in which he tossed six innings and gave up one run while earning a no-decision. The Angels will be countering with Ervin Santana who had a rough opening outing against the Minnesota Twins, giving up four runs in six innings to take the loss.
Much has already been made about the slow start of the Dodgers but they’ll get the chance to play before a home crowd for the first time this year when the take on the Diamondbacks. LA will send Clayton Kershaw to the mound while Arizona will counter with Ian Kennedy.
While everybody expected the Philadelphia Phillies to be among the best teams nobody predicted the San Francisco Giants would get off to such a quick start and they could move to 7-1 on the season if they can beat the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday.
