Cargill Inc. stated that its third-quarter profits more than doubled due to assistance with the revival of the economic downturn. The Minneapolis based company reported earnings of $898 million for the quarter, which increased from $326 million profit a year prior. Profits include $729 million in earnings from ongoing operations, and a $169 million net profit of Cargill's Brazilian poultry and pork business.
