Toddler dies in jump house after crushed by adults

A toddler was killed while playing in an inflatable jump house during a birthday party at Hoppin’ Houses. The Washington amusement center features large inflatable toys that children can bounce and play on, but also have certain times that “all ages” are allowed to jump on the toys.

Authorities say 3-year-old Jacob Pierce was killed after two adults bouncing in a jump house fell onto him, knocking him out off the inflatable. Jacob hit his head on the floor and paramedics were unable to revive him. An autopsy performed on Sunday revealed Jacob was killed instantly from massive head trauma.

Police say no criminal charges will be filed. Hoppin’ Houses require everyone to sign a liability release which warns users of injury risks.
