Los Angeles Angels Players Witness Man’s Suicide Jump from NYC Hotel
Just moments before Los Angeles Angels players were to board a bus and head to Yankee Stadium a 39-year-old man jumped to his death from the 42nd floor of a Manhattan hotel in which the team was staying.
According to reports the man had entered the Le Parker Meridien hotel just after 8:00 a.m. and asked to see the pool, located on the top floor. About 15 minutes later the man jumped from the building, landing on W. 56th St near the Angels bus.
The Angels bus was scheduled to leave the hotel at 9:00 a.m. and several players had been across the street at a coffee shop when the man jumped. A number of autograph seekers standing outside the hotel were said to have witnessed the man’s fall.
