Natalee Holloway Case Closed Due to Lack of Evidence

The case surrounding the disappearance and presumed death of Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway has been closed and the three main suspects, Joran van der Sloot, Deepak Kalpoe and his brother Satish Kalpoe, have been told they will not be charged due to a lack of evidence.

In May 2005 Holloway and a group of high school friends traveled to Aruba to celebrate their graduation. On the groups last night Holloway vanished and never made it to the airport.

With the story hitting front pages in international newspapers a full-scale investigation was launched and authorities concentrated on the three main suspects but a judge ruled that there was insufficient evidence to bring the men to trial.

Last month the three were re-arrested after prosecutors felt they had enough evidence to prove they were involved in the death of Natalee Holloway but all three were released once more.

Authorities have now closed the investigation.
