A fire broke out in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building on Wednesday morning and took firefighters about an hour to control.
The building, which sits next to the White House on 17th Street, N.W., between Pennsylvania Avenue and New York Avenue, houses the Office of the Vice President, the Office of Management and Budget, and the National Security Council.
It is believed the fire broke out on the third floor, near ceremonial offices used by Dick Cheney. No injuries were reported. Cheney has a working office in the West Wing of the White House.
