Philly anchorwoman Alycia Lane charged with assault

Philadelphia anchorwoman Alycia Lane has been charged with second degree assault after she punched a New York City police officer in the face on Saturday night. Lane hit a female cop after the officer ordered her boyfriend Chris Booker back into the cab. Booker initially got out of the cab to confront a driver in front of them because they were moving slowly. The driver turned out to be an officer in an undercover car. Reports say Lane used several lesbian slurs before “walloping” the cop.

The KYW-TV reporter has denied she hit the officer. “Miss Lane never hit or said any derogatory comments to anyone,” said her lawyer David Smith.

A day after the 35-year-old was charged with assault she called Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell to tell “her side of the story.”

“She didn’t ask me anything,” Rendell said in an interview about the meeting. “She’s too smart to think I’m gonna make a call to get her out of trouble.”

Earlier this year, Lane got into trouble when she emailed bikini picture of herself to married anchorman Rich Eisen.

Lane pleaded got guilty to the assault charges and is due in court in April.
