NHL Playoffs Schedule Thursday April 15: Alex Ovechkin Looks to Get Washington Capitals Off to Strong Start Against Montreal Canadiens

After Wednesday night’s results in the NHL playoffs there’s no doubt the top-seeds playing on Thursday won’t take anything for granted. The Pittsburgh Penguins, New Jersey Devils and San Jose Sharks all dropped their openers on home ice, sending a clear message to the Washington Capitals, Buffalo Sabres and Vancouver Canucks- the NHL playoffs are a brand new season.

Alex Ovechkin will certainly have Washington ready as they host the Montreal Canadiens in what appears to be a clear mismatch. The Capitals finished the season with the most points in the NHL, 33 more than the Canadiens who claimed the number eight seed in the Eastern Conference late in the season.

The Buffalo Sabres are the third seed in the Eastern Conference and will be hosting the Boston Bruins who closed the season strong and could make some noise in the playoffs.

Vancouver will be hosting the only Western Conference playoff game on Thursday night as they take on the Los Angeles Kings. This should be a solid series as the Kings put together one of the best road records in the NHL while the Canucks struggled away from Vancouver.
