Going Green This Holiday Season

A lot has happened in the “green” world this year.  Al Gore received an Oscar for his “An Inconvenient Truth.”  On August 17, Leonardo DiCaprio released his environmental documentary, “The Eleventh Hour.”  The Live Earth concerts spurred a three year campaign to end the climate crisis.  People everywhere are doing their part to save the world.  From purchasing electric cars to something as simple as recycling, people are getting the idea that the earth needs some help and we can do something about it.

World renowned artist, Tes Pasola, uses her art to express the importance of conservation and charity.  Using old newspapers and recycled wire, Pasola wishes everyone a happy holiday by creating beautiful works of art and holiday décor in her latest collection, Christmas Impressions.  Currently on exhibit at the Hyatt Hotel and Casino in Manila, Pasola proudly displays the benefits and importance of recycling. Pasola was quoted by Manila Standard Today saying “I was inspired by the success of Hyatt’s corporate social responsibility programs. I felt the decision to use paper, specifically newspaper [because] it was in line with the rationale of conversation, expressed through the practice of recycling.”

Christmas Impressions will be at the Hyatt until the first week of January.  The artwork is for sale with all proceeds going directly to Kyth and the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
