Michael Devlin Sentenced to 170 Years in Federal Prison

Michael Devlin, the man responsible for kidnapping and assaulting two Missouri boys, was sentenced to 170 years in federal prison on Friday.

In January of this year Ben Ownby disappeared after he got off a school bus and began walking home. Four days after his disappearance police traced the 13-year-old to Devlin’s apartment and when they entered the home they were astonished to find Shawn Hornbeck, a boy who had been missing since 2001.

Devlin was already serving multiple life sentences for the kidnapping and assault charges related to Ownby and Hornbeck but on Friday he was sentenced for the sexual nature of the crimes and transporting Hornbeck over state lines with intent to sexually assault him.
