When you go big or go home, what you are essentially doing is putting everything out on the line for the top spot because you care about nothing else. This appears to be the philosophy behind the political campaign being run by Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul.
Ron Paul, a self-described conservative with heavy libertarian leanings, is a man that is not afraid to say what he thinks. He refers to himself as the defender of liberty and the champion of the constitution and his habit of criticizing people from all across the political spectrum for their lapses with the constitution has brought a number of different people from a number of different ideologies into his political camp.
The swell of support for Ron Paul (as noted in the polls at www.USAElectionPolls.com) is generally seen in gigantic numbers on the internet and while those are interesting to note, at the same time for the most part it appears as though his internet support has not really translated to great support on the ground. Many people in this position attempt to run for the vice presidential ticket or some other consolation prize, but Ron Paul appears intent on the presidency or nothing else.
His go big or go home attitude is what has gotten him such passionate support amongst the blogosphere and other internet websites. His main goal has been to get young people interested and involved in the political process again and whether or not he is nominated as the Republican presidential candidate, he has already been greatly successful in doing that.
Several national polls have Ron Paul polling above 5% such as Diageo that has him at 7% and CNN that has him at 6%.
