Marjane Satrapi Tells the Story of Her Life in Persepolis, Coming This Christmas

Vincent Parannaud and Marjane Satrapi work together to put Satrapi’s best selling graphic novel and autobiography on film.  Starring Catherine Deneuve and Gena Rowlands, Persepolis is a Golden Globes Nominee.

Growing up in Iran, Marjane wore sneakers and beat up boys, but her world changed when she was ten.  Suddenly boys and girls had different entrances in the school.  She had to wear long dark robes covering her body, adults in her life seemed to vanish and bombs fell on her streets.  Having several close calls with the morality police her family sent her to a school in Europe.  Several years later she returns to Iran, but soon leaves for good after a failed marriage.
