Madeleine McCann Disappearance Turns Focus to Known Pedophile

The long-running investigation into the disappearance of 4-year-old Madeleine McCann has reportedly turned towards a known British pedophile who had links to the Portuguese resort from which the young girl vanished May 3.

While the man’s identity has not been released, he is believed to be the same individual who sexually assaulted a 12-year-old British girl in Portugal two years earlier. That man vanished shortly after being interviewed by police.

Authorities have concentrated their efforts on determining a motive behind the kidnapping and pedophilia has remained one of their chief concerns. There has never been a ransom note for the return of Madeleine McCann.

Only three named suspects have arisen in the case, McCann’s parents and a 34-year-old man named Robert Murat, all three have denied any involvement in Madeleine’s disappearance.
