NBA Playoffs Schedule Saturday, April 17: LeBron James Begins Quest for Title as Cleveland Cavaliers Open Series with Chicago Bulls

The NBA playoffs have finally arrived as Saturday sees four games of the opening round take place, three in the Eastern Conference and one in the Western Conference.

LeBron James will look to get the Cleveland Cavaliers started in their quest for the city’s first NBA title as they host the Chicago Bulls. Much has been made about LeBron sitting out the last few games of the regular season but he can silence the talk with a win on Saturday.

In game two of the day the Atlanta Hawks will be hosting the Milwaukee Bucks in what could be a short series. The Hawks have had consistent play throughout the year with Joe Johnson, Josh Smith and Jamal Crawford and appear determined to make a run. Unfortunately for the Bucks they enter the playoffs with Andrew Bogut on the sideline due to injury and they’ll have to rly heavily on rookie guard Brandon Jennnigs to get things done.

In what could be the most interesting matchup of the opening round the Miami Heat will travel to take on the Boston Celtics. While Dwyane Wade has the Heat playing as well as they have all year but they’ll be facing a veteran lineup of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen, all looking for another ring.

Just as the Heat and Celtics matchup in the East looks promising the battle between the Utah Jazz and Denver Nuggets in the West is just as appealing. Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups could easily lead the Nuggets to a Western Conference finals but Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams have the Jazz playing solid and have the pieces to make a move as well.
