Oscar Peterson, noted by many as the greatest jazz pianist to ever play, died on Sunday at the age of 82.

During jazz’s heyday in the 1950’s Peterson was quickly recognized for his fast moving fingers, technical skill and his 6 foot 3, 250 pound frame. Peterson played alongside Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie, Count Bassie, Duke Ellington and more during a career that spanned seven decades.
